This Ship is Going Down
02:30
|
|||
And as we sailed across the sea, we head due west from Tripoli.
A surly crew of 33 was all I could amass.
And as we round the Cape of Hope the rigging snapped the sails broke.
The crew’s still drunk from the night before and the ship is going down!!
The aft had sunk beneath the sea. A starboard wave crashed violently.
And washed away Michael McGee to Davy Jones’s home.
They called “Land-Ho!” 5 miles away. I sent the lifeboats on their way.
I’ll dine in hell by the end of the day for the ship is going down.
Keeping well aware
of how the ocean stirs.
You’ve damned us all to hell and the ship is going down!
The crew made it safely to land so now i make my final stand.
Yet another slug of sea soaked grog for i know this is the end.
And as the timbers swell and shake I’ve no regret for my own fate.
A captain’s life the seas to take when the ship is going down!
Keeping well aware
of how the ocean stirs.
You’ve damned us all to hell this day
A quick shot of rum
my hand’s on the wheel
I’ll fly this thing to hell!
And as the water hits my chin I pull my last sweet breath down in
embrace the cold dark deathly grin (the ship is going down)/(for I’m journeys end bound).
And knowing that my crew is safe I’ll say a prayer for my own sake
and I’ll meet the devil face to face the ship is going down!
OI!

Amazing Grace
03:05
|
|||
Chorus:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.
That saved a wretch like me.
I was once lost, but now I am found
was blind but now i can see.
T’was grace that taught my fearful heart
and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appeared
that hour when i first believed
Chorus:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now I am found
was blind but now I can see.
When we’ve been here 10,000 years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days, to sing His praise
The hour when we've first begun.
Chorus:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me.
I was once lost but now I am found
was blind but now I can see.
Bar room part:
And when this precious heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall profess, within my heart,
A life of joy and peace.

Shay's Rebellion
02:05
|

Well Francis Pete, was such a brave man.
He left his folks in Cork & Kerry.
As he arrived, to his rebellion/(land and new home)
They sent him off to die for Lincoln.
The last thing that Francis said was, “Don’t cry for me mother I’m coming home!”
Chorus:
Hey! Ho! Another fortnight away.
Hey! Ho! And they live with their sins!
Hey! Ho! A blood-stained portrait of kin, is all they own.
And Maggie Mae, was quite a prude girl.
Until she moved to a state of Union.
With her boys gone, they died in this war
(Now she lives)/(She makes her living) with her legs wide open.
The last thing that Bobby said was “Don’t cry for me mother I’m coming home!”
Chorus
The last thing that Francis said was “Don’t cry for me mother I’m coming home!”

Mickey Cole
03:32
|
|||
Here’s the tale about ol’ Mikey Cole.
Who lived in a town who would never grow old.
When he would get drunk, he’d get into fights.
‘til he met his poor father at the end of a knife.
Chorus
-That’s just how all these old stories go.
Like the one we just sang about ol’ Mikey Cole.
While the whiskey flows let’s raise them high
and sing one to him!
-Shoo ra loo. Shoo ra la. Sha ra la la la lala dee da.
-That’s just how all these old stories go about faith,
and glory!
Now a tale about Maggie McGuint.
Who early in life realized she didn’t like men.
Lesbian tattoos on both her wrists.
Now she lives up in Dundalk with 17 kids.
Chorus double beat out

O'Malley
02:35
|
|||
A boy, alone. Cocksure and hopeful.
His head’s, at home,
but his heart’s in California.
Where time, delays, the progress you’ve made.
You live with the choices you made
Chorus:
I’m living in a white trash town.
Jenni lives next to a crack compound
Jason is happy in Ol’ Naptown
Down by the bay.
Matty says hi to the girls he sees
Everywhere we go we drink for free
And we’re as heavy we can be down by the bay
And now, at home
and slightly sober.
He thinks to days, when his life was much smoother
The card’s been played,
Your luck will be weighed.
You live with the choices you made.
Chorus. Extended instrumental
They say we’re a city that can read
bet we’re a citty that just breeds
and Martin O’Mally doesn’t even believe in our city by the bay.
Chorus
They say we’re a city that can read
bet we’re a citty that just breeds
and Martin O’Mally do you fuckin’ believe?
down by the bay.
Chorus
DOWN BY THE BAY

Dundalk The Brave
03:04
|
|||
My smoked up bedroom smells like shit,
I see life through blood-shot eyes.
And i have no one to blame here but myself.
I’m in trouble for the things I haven’t got to yet.
And it’s time I made a mess out of myself.
GO GO GO!
Chorus:
Don’t wanna talk about it.
I just wanna stew my brains in brews.
I don’t wanna be a recluse all my days
YEEEEEAH
1-2-3-4!
One day in Dublin left my
Heart there among them
Where the skies
and the open stone drown sorrow away.
Now I succumb and give in
to the “land of pleasant living”
Where my Natty Boh drowns sorrows away.
Your psycho babble bullshit thought was bollocks til last night.
Had a full fledged conversation with myself.
Cause I’ve been in this whiskey bottle so long i might owe rent.
And it’s time I made a mess of someone else.
GO GO GO!
Chorus
One day in Dublin left my
Heart there among them
Where the skies and the open stone drown sorrow away.
Now I succumb and give in
to the “land of pleasant living”
Where my Natty Boh drowns trouble away.
